Angelina Jolie at The Oscars - Hair by David Babaii

David Babaii himself took the time to detail how he created Angelina's look at the Oscars last night. Full text of his interview below.

To achieve this romantic cascade of curls, I sprayed her entire head with David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray and scrunched it into the hair. This gives just the right texture and hold. Next, I dried her hair by dividing her tresses into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. Taking small sections starting at the nape, use the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment and finish the drying process with a large round brush to smooth hair straight. At the crown area, I sprayed David Babaii for WildAid Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier to the root area and down the hair shaft. Then, I dried this section with a jumbo round brush to add lift and volume. Once dry, I sectioned the hair again using the same sectioning process as I did for blow drying. Using the David Babaii for WildAid Styling Iron, I once again sectioned the hair into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. To curl, use the Styling Iron to create "ribbon curls" by taking small "V" shaped sections. To achieve, wrap the hair around and inside the styling iron close to the scalp area and pull the iron down (similar to curling ribbon). After curling the entire head, I smoothed some of the curls with a brush while leaving some intact. At the crown area, I back-brushed the hair at the scalp area only, sprayed some additional Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier and gently smoothed the surface not to remove too much of the back-brushing. Next, to create her half-up, half down look, I brushed the sides up and back and secured with pins. To complete the back, I ran my fingers up several curls to create volume and variations in texture. For a long but natural lasting hold, I used David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray.

DIY: Gwyneth Paltrow as Styled by David Babaii

Her husband may have been styled Sargent Pepper and the lonely thrifter's club but Gwenie went high style. Celebrity Hairdresser David Babaii created this effortless yet sexy red carpet look using his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with multiple settings for constant temperature control. Before drying, he lightly misted hair with his Bohemian Beach Spray and created a center part. Using his hands instead of a brush he created a subtle soft texture.

After hair was completely dry, David used his David Babaii for WildAid Styling Iron to achieve a soft bend at the ends. He sectioned the hair into 3parts: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. Starting at the nape and working up and to the sides, he took large strands and created a slight bend to the hair at the ends with the Styling Iron. Alternate the direction of the curls if you wish to achieve a less structured pattern. Inside tip: One of the biggest mistakes women make when doing their hair by not sectioning the hair before they start. Having control over your hairstyle at all times is vital. Also, it is important to invest in a good ceramic and tourmaline Styling Iron.

DIY: Nicole Kidman as Styled by David Babaii.

David Babaii for WildAid’s Hair Polish, Blow Dryer and Styling Iron created this sleek, elegant look for this years’ 2009 Grammy’s. Celebrity Hairdresser, David Babaii applied a small amount of Hair Polish to wet hair and created a center part. Next, he used his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment to finish the drying process with a large paddle brush to smooth hair straight. Avoid any metal coated brushes as these bristles only generate unnecessary heat and will cause hair to be baked not dried. Hair was sectioned first: top, sides and back.
Hair was dried by starting at the nape area first and continued with each section until the entire head was dry. Apply an additional amount of Hair Polish prior to using a styling iron. To finish, he used his David Babaii for WildAid Styling Iron with Tourmaline and Ceramic technology and divided hair into three parts again: top, sides and back. Starting at the nape area and taking small sections at a time, comb the hair before running the flat iron through. Complete each section until you have straightened every strand. Inside Tip: By warming the Hair Polish in your palms before applying, actually boosts its ability to seal the cuticle, while repairing and strengthening each strand. Not to mention the shine!

David Babaii Creates Angelina Jolie's Look for the Golden Globes!

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii (who I love because of his work with Wild Aid and Kate Hudson) accomplished Angelina's light, airy and natural look with three simple tools: a blow dryer, round brush and the his signature Bohemian Beach Spray. After blow drying her hair with his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer and a round brush, David took large sections twisting the ends around the brush and spraying each with his Bohemian Beach Spray. Using the dryer's low speed, he gave each section a blast of warm air to set. After cooling, the section was gently unwrapped from the brush and additional Bohemian Beach Spray was scrunched in to give volume and lift. The result is a look that is not over done or un-natural and is easy to achieve at home!
